Safeguarding Intent

At Goldbeaters, we are committed to providing an environment which is safe and where the welfare of each child is of paramount importance. This will include a commitment to ensuring that all pupils feel confident that any concerns they may have will be listened to and acted upon.

Examples of Safeguarding and Child Protections issues include:

• physical abuse – causing physical harm to a child
• emotional abuse – making a child always feel they are worthless, unloved or inadequate or always having inappropriate expectations of them
• sexual abuse – making a child or young person take part in sexual activities. The activities may involve physical contact or allowing them to see pornographic material, or inappropriate discussions about sex
• neglect – failing to provide adequate food, shelter and clothing, or neglect of, or unresponsiveness to a child’s basic emotional needs.

The school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy can be found below. It outlines the systems have in place to ensure that all members of our community are aware of the importance of safeguarding and child protection. Additionally, it makes clear the responsibilities for identifying and reporting issues, and how they are then dealt with.
