Feeling Good and Doing Good
Feeling good is so important. We all do a better job when we feel good.
We are taking part in the November Mathletics Challenge. It ends on Sunday night so log on to get as many points as you can. We need to make the worldwide leaderboard!
Gold Star Fireworks Night
What a wonderful evening we had on Thursday 2nd November! Over 1000 children and families from The Orion and Goldbeaters arrived back at school for a stunning fireworks display. If you couldn't get a ticket and you didn't see the fireworks from your home then have a look on here. Thanks to all who supported the event for staying calm, being so smiley and polite and for having a great night.
Happy Autumn 2!
I hope you all had a good half term. Your children were fantastic during Autumn 1, very hard working and full of learning energy. Thank you for doing the DO MORE tasks too (cakes with your child and the sheet telling us where your family are from). Thanks!
What is Happening?
Rapid Routines: Champion Reader, Champion Number, early to bed, being on time, smart uniform…thanks!
Our History Week
This week we did a home task with our families to learn more about our countries of origin. Our children come from all around the world! On Thursday we celebrated our diversity with a Togetherness Day.
This week we have been celebrating British Apples which are in season right now. Have a look at our classroom displays. We have learnt apple facts, bobbed for apples and made apple tarts. Did you know an apple a day can really boost your memory?

Welcome to Summer!
Welcome back to an action packed term. We had a busy holiday with 250 children learning and being active with us across the two schools. The buildings are very clean and ready too! I hope you had some lovely times with your children.
I need you to really help your child. Tiredness was a huge issue last term please can you follow our guide and get your child to bed at the right time – it is attached. The campaign is called “Feel Bright, Sleep Right”. We are in a new era – children on phones and Ipads at bedtime means things are quiet but they are not going to feel tired. Blue light from the screen wakes you up. This is a national problem – traditional play, bath, book is much better.
Bright Yellow Thinking
In this half term we help everyone learn a bit faster! SATs tests and a serious academic period of learning needs some fun so we use a method called Bright Yellow Thinking. Quite simply we help children think more positively! This year there are 3 “MODES” to get in:
Dates – a Few
Champion Reader - Back in your child’s book bag
Have a great term!

The Amazing Word Up – week 8!
The Big Red “Yay” Day
Friday 24 March
A Million Thanks Parents - Contributions through the Cash Cans are reaching £2500
We are raising some money for a few causes:
This time we say - GIVE WHAT YOU CAN
Alarming Facts - More than 19 million people across East Africa are facing terrifying food shortages. Drought has caused crops to fail and cattle to die in parts of Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya - leaving millions facing starvation and desperately seeking a safe source of water. Brutal war in South Sudan has driven more than three million people from their homes and left millions more in need of emergency food.
Can you help us also by sending your child to bed early?
Many children are excessively tired!
We are researching why and finding out that bed times are far too late. Thanks

Later this term we look forward to the incredible 6 week GO FEST with our friends at Orion!
